2006 Ambassador of Cultivated Smoking Pleasure for Davidoff

Ne gunlerdi... Turkiye`nin gelmis gecmis en karizmatik sporcusudur. (Sonia Davidoff - Kubilay Turkyilmaz)

New ambassadors for Davidoff:
The names Moritz Suter and Kubilay Turkyilmaz will mean absolutely nothing to almost all American smokers. But they’re well-known in Switzerland, which is why Davidoff just appointed Turkyilmaz its second “Ambassador of Cultivated Smoking Pleasure” after naming Suter early in 2006.

Suter is the founder of the Crossair, which took over Swissair in 2002 and became Swiss International Air Lines. A devotee of cigars for many years, he’s been a strident supporter of tolerance for smokers.

Turkyilmaz is much better known, as he was a star soccer player for Switzerland on its national teams from 1988-2001, scoring 34 goals in 62 games. He had to quit the sport due to knee problems at age 34, but he continues as a newspaper and television commentator. His favorite cigar of the moment is the Davidoff Aniversario No. 3 (6 inches by 50 ring).

He was added to the Davidoff Ambassador program because, according to Davidoff Chief Executive Officer Reto Cina, “in appreciation of the fact that he has publicly professed his passion for cigars over many years, in recognition of the positive influence his commitment has on the public perception of smoking and to thank him for his important contribution to the good image of the cigar and cultivated smoking.”
